Get Ready for the Weekend Wednesday - 070809

Music Edition 1

I love listening to live music so I’m sure this is going to be a focus for a lot of my Wednesday Weekends. The best part - there’s a ton of summer music events going on so I’m just in time to get you started. Let’s call this edition #1 and go from there, okay.

Local Bands at scissors.paper.rock salon

Get your weekend jump-started on Thursday nights this summer with free music in an eclectic location. Yolande Carson, the proprietor for scissors.paper.rock salon holds a summer concert series every year. On Thursday nights starting tomorrow at 8:00 PM, local bands will play in the salon, located at the corner of Allen & New York in Pasadena. There is also an open mic starting at 7:00 PM and it’s quite fun. Come join the festivities.

Friday Night Jazz at LACMA

Did you know that you can hear great jazz every Friday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art? This usually goes on from April through November so you can visit any Friday practically all throughout the year. Music starts at 6PM through 8PM. Check out their schedule here.

And if you’re still not tired by Sunday, here are movies you should check out (if you haven’t seen them already)
