Recyling the PopSci Way

As most of you know, I'm a closet geek. I'm very busy with work (and other work) right now but I needed some downtime so I indulged in much geekery this morning. Here's two interesting articles that you should peek.

Growing tissues with your TV? It's a bit SkyNet to me but a great way to recyle. Click here to read the article.

Talking about recyling - here's taking it to the extreme. Interested in knowing how your pee can be used in the future? See here how.

Enjoy your week and stay cool!

Airport Codes Quiz

I'm not quite sure that getting a high score on this quiz is a good thing. The average score is 46% and I'm about twice that percentage. If you're going to take the quiz, let me know how you do.

Airport Codes

Score: 86% (12 out of 14)

Get Ready for the Weekend Wednesday - 070809

Music Edition 1

I love listening to live music so I’m sure this is going to be a focus for a lot of my Wednesday Weekends. The best part - there’s a ton of summer music events going on so I’m just in time to get you started. Let’s call this edition #1 and go from there, okay.

Local Bands at scissors.paper.rock salon

Get your weekend jump-started on Thursday nights this summer with free music in an eclectic location. Yolande Carson, the proprietor for scissors.paper.rock salon holds a summer concert series every year. On Thursday nights starting tomorrow at 8:00 PM, local bands will play in the salon, located at the corner of Allen & New York in Pasadena. There is also an open mic starting at 7:00 PM and it’s quite fun. Come join the festivities.

Friday Night Jazz at LACMA

Did you know that you can hear great jazz every Friday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art? This usually goes on from April through November so you can visit any Friday practically all throughout the year. Music starts at 6PM through 8PM. Check out their schedule here.

The Funk Rumble Block Party

Inaugural event
LA’s Chinatown
Live music

What’s not to like? This is the ultimate block party, LA underground style. It’s all happening on Saturday, July 11th starting at 12PM through 10PM. Tickets are only $5 before 4PM and $8 after that. Check out the event’s blog for more information.

And if you’re still not tired by Sunday, here are movies you should check out (if you haven’t seen them already)

Public Enemies – Johnny Depp, Christian Bale (R)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox (PG-13)
The Hangover – Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis (R)

I'm Still Here

I've been a bad blogger. I've neglected posting here and I haven't even done a Weekend Wednesday for several weeks now. Well, I promise to post one tomorrow and, since I've been a bad girl, I have a lot of crazy thoughts running around in my head that I can post here (after I scrub 'em squeaky clean). Stay tuned and I'll let you know when Weekend Wednesday for this week is up.
